Cancellation & Refund Policy

Terms and Conditions
The entry fee is 340€ // The Rally is open to a maximum of 99 participants. Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. 30 slots are reserved to increase participation from women and non-binary riders. Participants can only register as SOLO, there’s no PAIR category.
Tracking System // The tracker device and tracking system are included and will be provided by followmychallenge.com.
A refundable deposit of 100€ for each rented tracker will be required, to be paid within two weeks before the start. The deposit will be refunded once the tracker is returned at the finish line. Personal GPRS, SPOT, or InReach devices will not be tracked.
Checkpoints // Participants will validate their ride by passing through staffed checkpoints. CP1 and CP3 will only be included if there is a minimum of 50 participants.
Not included // Accommodations, meals and transport.
Insurance // you must have liability, death, accident and health insurance covering emergency rescue, medical expenses and repatriation. Insurance must be valid in the destination country for the whole duration of the event and cover mountain biking in cycling events as the main reason for the trip. Cycling Federation insurance policies and NHS cards will not be accepted. We will ask you to provide a copy of your policy.

Under no circumstances can the entry be transferred to another participant or event.
If the organization needs to cancel
If the event is cancelled due to Force Majeure events, no refunds will be provided.
We are referring to unlikely events such as pandemics, earthquakes, or volcanic eruptions. In such cases, participants are advised to claim the entry fee through their private insurance policy, which should cover this type of cancellation.
In case of weather alerts, we may postpone the start of the event by a few days. No refund will be provided.
Insolvency
In case of insolvency: our insurance will respond to the fulfilment of the obligations arising from the provision of services to the contractors of a combined trip and, especially, to the reimbursement in the event of insolvency or bankruptcy of the Travel Agency.
In accordance with European, Spanish and Canary Islands legislation, Outer Detours has contracted insurance with the following companies:

Participant Responsibilities
Participants must sign and agree to the Rider Agreement and must be at least 18 years old.
The Participant is fully responsible for their own safety and logistics. They acknowledge that Outer Detours does not provide any form of insurance, emergency rescue services, or on-course marshals.
The Participant is responsible for all the damages of material or of a personal nature that the he can cause or suffer.
The Participant is responsible for complying with local traffic rules and for riding with care and respect toward pedestrians and other road users. The Participant is also responsible for respecting natural spaces and following “leave no trace” principles.

The entry fee is 320€
The Audax is open to a maximum of 99 participants. Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. 30 slots are reserved to increase participation from women and non-binary riders. Participants can only register as SOLO, there’s no PAIR category.
Tracking System
The tracking system will be provided by followmychallenge.com. A refundable deposit of 100€ for each rented tracker will be required, to be paid within two weeks before the start. The deposit will be refunded once the tracker is returned at the finish line. Personal GPRS, SPOT, or InReach devices will not be tracked.
Included
Small bag transfer (max 10 litres / 5 kg) from the start line to the finish line. If you don’t make it to the finish line, we can ship your bag to your home address during the week following the event; shipping costs will be at your expense.
Cardboard bike box to fly back home – to be collected at Vadebicis Chafiras, Tenerife, 4 km from Tenerife South Airport (TFS). Please check opening times.

Insurance

If a route does not meet a minimum group size of four participants within 60 days before departure, we will cancel the tour and fully refund all the participants.

The guest may assign the reservation of the Tour to another person. The transfer must be communicated by email at least 15 days before departure.

Participant Responsibilities
The guest is responsible for all the damages of material or of a personal nature that the guest can cause or suffer.
It is the responsibility of the guest and his/her companions to respect the local traffic rules and to circulate with care and respect to pedestrians and other road users.
It is the responsibility of the guest to respect natural spaces and follow the “leave no trace” principles.
The guest declares to be in perfect health conditions, be able to ride a bike, and have the necessary travel & health insurance to undertake cycling activities in the destination country.

Why we need your data and how we manage it
Participant phone number
Required for essential communication and safety purposes during the event. It will only be shared with rescue services or emergency units if necessary. It is stored securely in our database and on our official mobile device, and will be deleted after the event.
Participant email
Required for essential communication before and after the event. It will be retained in our mailing list system to send approximately 2–3 updates per year about our events. You may unsubscribe at any time.
Participant VAT number, ID, or passport number
Required for issuing invoices and complying with national tax regulations. This data is stored in our accounting system and may be shared with tax authorities, as required by law. Personal identification details, along with a copy of an identification document, may also be required to book hotels or ferries, or to access private checkpoints. In such cases, this information may be shared with reception staff and ticket offices.
Next of kin email and phone number
Required for emergency purposes. This information will only be used and shared in case of emergency. It may be printed on the participant brevet card and will be deleted after the event.
