Support
Support van // Loaded with snacks, drinks, and key bike tools and spares. It will take care of a healthy picnic lunch, assist with standard mechanicals, and transfer luggage to the next accommodation.
Support crew // Two experienced cyclists will offer practical riding advice and assist with any common mechanical issues along the route.
Roadbook and live tracking // Participants receive detailed route files and comprehensive information about the course, preparation, and recommended gear. The support crew will help set up the route on your GPS device. Real-time tracking ensures every rider can follow the route safely and enjoy the freedom to ride at their own pace.
Please note // A supported route is not a guided route. While a tour leader will ride with participants to assist in case of mechanical issues or emergencies, riders are fully responsible for respecting local laws and natural areas. Participants must be self-sufficient in following the route, carry all mandatory equipment, and commit to the day-by-day itinerary.
Please be aware that the support van is not always ready or available, and it is not intended to carry participants as passengers. All riders must accept and sign our rider agreement before taking part in the route.
difficulty
Advanced route // For cyclists who ride regularly and want back-to-back challenging days with continuous climbs and long descents. Rides may start before sunrise or finish after sunset. Cold weather, rain, or strong winds may make the route even more demanding. Check the day-by-day itinerary for daily distance and elevation details.
Ride at your pace // Expect a relaxed pace of around 15 km/h with plenty of stops for coffee, resupply, and regrouping. You are always free to ride at your own pace — faster or slower. We will ensure you have the correct route loaded on your GPS, and keep an eye on your real-time location
bike and gear
Bike setup // Bring your trusted gravel or mountain bike. You will need a low gear ratio (around 0.8), at least 1.5 litres of water capacity, and a minimum tyre width of 45 mm — a tubeless setup is recommended.
We encourage riding your own bike, but rental options can be arranged if needed.
Mandatory equipment // Every participant must take part in the route with the following equipment. Each day, we’ll review the route and weather forecast to decide what gear and clothing to carry on the bike.
Tools and Spares // multi-tool, inner tube, tubeless repair kit, hand pump, chain link.
Electronics // GPS device, front light (min 600lm), rear light, power bank and charging cables.
Clothing // rain jacket, mid layer, down jacket, waterproof gloves and shoe covers.
Bags // Saddle or frame bag of around 4 L to store essential equipment and snacks.

3☆ mountain hut
We start climbing from the shore along a quiet paved road. As we gain altitude, the landscape changes — cacti give way to palm trees, and eventually we take a gravel road that winds through a lush laurel forest, often shrouded in mist. Finally, we climb above the clouds and reach our accommodation: a cozy mountain hut on the slopes of Mt. Teide.

It’s a long climb to Mount Teide, a massive volcano rising 3,700 meters above the ocean. The ascent follows mainly hard-packed double tracks through pine forests, leading to the moon-like volcanic landscape of the Cañadas above 2,000 meters, another UNESCO World Heritage site. From there, the route quickly descends on paved roads to the hotel. It’s a long day, but shortcuts are possible in the afternoon.

Breakfast at the hotel
We can enjoy a short morning ride or simply relax on the beach. It’s time to pack our bikes and say goodbye. We’ll arrange your transfer to Gran Canaria Airport, about a 30-minute drive away.
Crew
Daniela likes the most adventurous and challenging part of cycling, she won extreme ultra-cycling races and explored remote countries on her bike. She likes to ride far away from her comfort zone, camp out in pristine nature and get in touch with local communities, always with an easy-going attitude and open-minded approach.
Like everybody else, Matteo learned to ride a bike as a kid, and never quit. After many years and countless miles, he is still amazed by the gyroscopic balance given by the spinning wheels, the instant pleasure of moving forward pushing on the pedals, the endless freedom of climbing mountains and crossing landscapes.
